As the summer arrives, we eagerly anticipate the monthly Summer Cruising Days – a delightful series of events that encourage us to explore the beauty of the Gulf Islands. Organised throughout the summer, these cruising escapades promise not only a lovely trip but also savory barbecues on different islands, creating a perfect blend of adventure and camaraderie.
Diverse Participation for All Watercraft
Whether you navigate the waves with sails or power, Summer Cruising Days welcome everyone. The call extends to powerboats, launches, trailer boats, keelers, and multihulls, fostering a diverse and inclusive community of sea lovers.
The heart of these events lies in the shared joy of cruising to a new destination each month. From the picturesque Mahurangi Harbour to the enchanting Man O War Waiheke Island, each journey promises a unique experience. The generous sponsorship from companies like Allvo Marine, Predict Wind, HMB Electrical, and Boat Spray enhances the festivities.

The schedule for this year’s Summer Cruising Days is as follows:
- January Friday 24 th – Cruising Rally
- February Saturday 15 th – Cruising Rally / Poker Run
- March Saturday 15 th – Cruising Rally
- March Sunday 30 th – Power Committee Fishing Competition
- April Thursday 17 th – Easter Cruising Rally
Beyond Cruising: Beachside Revelry and Fun Prizes
The excitement doesn’t end with the voyages. Each BBQ at the destination beach turns into a lively gathering with fun and games, creating memorable moments for participants. Prizes await those who engage in the revelry, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the Summer Cruising Days experience.
For those who wish to linger a bit longer, boats are encouraged to stay and enjoy breakfast on the beach at some destinations. It’s an opportunity to meet Club members and make friendships.
As the sea beckons and the dates approach, prepare to set sail on a summer adventure like no other. Summer Cruising Days offer more than just a journey across the Gulf; So, hoist your sails, power up your engines, and join in the maritime merriment that awaits you this Summer.
Marina Access
Members can access work berths for boat maintenance and take advantage of short-term marina berth rentals. Whenever you need a place to dock your vessel temporarily, our marina offers a safe and secure location. Contact the Marina for bookings and berth enquiries.
Whether you’re seeking relaxation, adventure, or a sense of camaraderie, our Power Section has it all. Join us in exploring the wonders of power boating and the pleasures of the sea.

Fishing Competition
For avid anglers, the power section offers an annual fishing competition. Whether you’re into deepwater game fishing, in-shore sport fishing, or prefer the tranquility of land-based fishing, our Club has something to offer. Just like sailing, fishing can be both a recreational pastime and a competitive endeavor, providing endless excitement for all.
Supporting the Community
Our Power Committee wholeheartedly support club events like the annual Club Open Day. Additionally, our Power Committee hosts the Power Committee Photo Competition each winter, inspiring members to capture the beauty and or fun of their boating experiences.
Empowering Education
Knowledge is a powerful tool, especially when it comes to boating safety and skills. We work closely with Coastguard to supply courses and invite guest speakers to share their expertise, ensuring that our members are well-informed and safe on the water.
