Bucklands Beach Yacht Club members are friendly and sociable and have just as much fun off-the-water getting involved in Club social events, as they do on the water!

Our social calendar is packed with events for all the family to enjoy with good food and good company guaranteed. Our members are a brainy bunch and the club’s regular trivia nights not only prove very popular, but they are also keenly contested. Less cerebral but just as much fun is the Brunch on the Spit, an outdoor event with members wearing formal wear on top and beachwear on the bottom half.

Other outdoor events have included a Club picnic to Motuihe Island, a great social day out with accompanying fun and games. While the weather cannot be guaranteed for that one, it can’t possibly put a dampener on the Bucklands Beach Yacht Club beach party – which takes place inside the clubhouse, complete with sand! Regular events include a lucky draw each Thursday with generous cash prizes, though the winning member must be present to claim the jackpot.

Major sporting events are often shown on the big screen in the Clubhouse. It’s much more fun supporting your team alongside friends – the next best thing to actually being there!
