Learn To Sail - Level One

This course is for complete beginners, or sailors with limited knowledge. The course runs every Saturday for three weeks from 9am until 3pm. The course is a mixture of both theory and practical, it is a level 1 Yachting New Zealand Seamanship course. By the end of this course, you will have a basic understanding of sailing and be a confident crew on a sailboat.

What’s Included

Participants will have access to Club-provided wet weather gear and buoyancy aids throughout the course.  Course fees also include a complimentary three-month Club membership, and graduates will receive a Yachting New Zealand Level 1 Certificate upon completion.

Members’ discount – $650

Non-Members – $670

The Boats

The Club’s J24 keelboats are ideal for learning to sail, offering a stable, safe, and forgiving platform for beginners.  With a maximum ratio of one coach to four students, participants benefit from a supportive and hands-on learning environment.  Everyone can take an active role onboard while developing confidence and practical sailing skills.
